Dig, is a memorial to the 11,949 lives lost (as one 12/31/21) due to COVID-19 at the intersection of Appalachia and the Rust Belt. Paper masks memorialize individuals and a region needing to be held and lifted collectively in careful labor. Visitors can add names of the deceased to additional masks at the exhibit.
